Journal Giveaway Almost Here!

I just wanted to remind everyone that I’m giving away a custom inlovewithjournals journal this weekend. I realize now I got the dates wrong in my original post; this Saturday is August 27 and the contest closes at midnight Atlantic Standard Time on that day. A Journal Giveaway

On July 3 I reviewed these custom notebooks made for me by Bookblock Original. I’ve been using one of them and I must say the paper is great and I love writing in them. Because of moving I have more copies than originally planned so I wanted to give one of them away to one of you!

Up for grabs is one of the black notebooks, with a black elastic and “inlovewithjournals” written in white on the front.

Pharaoh Notes Giveaway

Yes it’s another giveaway, this time of a notebook. I think I’m addicted – to notebooks and giveaways. 🙂

I bought this hard cover notebook on ebay a while ago. I can’t find a review of it here on the blog so I took some pictures. I also can’t find a current listing on ebay so no idea if it’s even still available, and I don’t remember what I paid for it.

The company is Jingu Stationery. The cover says “Pharaoh notes” as you can see but I have no idea what that might refer to. The writing on the front cover is a lyric from the Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes song Up Where We Belong. Along the spine is written “The world of magic is brilliant.”

The notebook measures 7.5″ tall by 4.75″ wide. The back of the notebook doesn’t say how many pages there are, but the book is 1.5″ thick. The pages are not lined and have a mix of images and handwriting. Not a lot of the handwriting makes sense but the effect is nice.

Here’s an example of one of the spreads. I haven’t done a pen test so not sure how the paper will stand up to different pens but the paper feels good and the pages are not too thin.

There is a ribbon bookmark included, and here’s another example of a page spread. It’s a really nice notebook and I’m giving it away! There’s nothing wrong with the notebook; I’m just giving it away because I think it’s been sitting on my shelf for at least a year and I haven’t used it. So.

Baoer 79 Starwalker Giveaway

Here we go with another giveaway. I was going to wait but then I thought why wait? Giveaways are fun!

So this time I’m giving away my Baoer 79 Starwalker. This is a great pen but I don’t love it. The section is a little too slim for my taste. And it doesn’t always start up right away. But other than that it looks good and writes well. I bought it on ebay last September and paid less than $4 for it. You can read my review of it in this post. I will include the converter it came with, along with a couple of ink cartridges in the winner’s choice of colour from my collection.

NaJoWriMo and a Giveaway

NaJoWriMo is National Journal Writing Month and this year I’ve decided to participate in the January program. It occurs four times per year: January, April, July and October. You sign up and each day of the month you will receive a journal prompt in your email. The theme for this month is Journaling for Personal Growth and Achieving Goals. Well that sounds pretty good right?

These are the prompts I’ve received so far:

Jan 1: What inspires you?

Jan 2: Create a list of things you’ve never done, and would like to do.

Jan 3: Make a list of 10 questions that you don’t have the answers for right now.

I think it’s going to be interesting. This program was conceived by Bakari Chavanu and he is a journaling enthusiast using the Day One app. He wrote Starting from Day One: Using the Day One Journaling App to Record and Enrich Your Life. I’m excited to see if I can maintain these journal prompts for a solid month. While I don’t have trouble writing in my journal every day, I have not used prompts for a 30 day stretch before so it’s a bit of a challenge for me. But one I’m looking forward to. So far so good!

I also wanted to let everyone know that I am hosting another giveaway. I want to whittle down my pen collection so a few times throughout the year ahead I will be hosting pen giveaways. Please note that all of the pens I will be giving away are used, unless stated otherwise.

The pen I am giving away in January is the Monteverde Poquito in silver. I wrote about it in this post. It is a pocket pen, perfect for my pocket Finsbury. But I’m just not using it at all; I find it a little too small for my hands. It did not come with a converter but I will include a couple cartridges, in the ink of the winner’s choice (from my ink cartridge collection).

I don’t remember what I paid for this pen, and I didn’t mention it in the blog post referenced above. Currently Goulet Pens is selling these pens for $24 US in Stone Grey, Pink and Turquoise. The silver may be sold out or no longer available.
